What are 'hand linked' toes?

Because machines don't have hand-eye co-ordination (or at least not to the same degree as a human), toe linking by machine requires a 'scatter-gun' approach, often resulting in a raised, bulky seam, which you can often feel - sometimes causing discomfort. Because our socks are linked by hand, a precisely positioned stitch allows the join to be achieved without the need for excessive thread - keeping your socks just as strong but far more comfortable!
