Do I have to switch my energy supplier?


No. If you are purchasing power from your utility or a third-party energy supplier like an ESCO, no problem. You can continue to do so. In fact, by using an ESCO plus subscribing to Community Solar, you may save even more money.




What happens if I move?


Solar Park™ Energy has sites planned throughout the state of NY. In the event you move within NY State we will most likely be able to help you buy power from a local solar park at your new location with nothing more than a simple advisement to the local utility. Our solar energy supplier network will work with you to assure that you can retain the benefits of the SolarPark™ Program. However, if you are moving out of state or just do not wish to continue to participate in the program any longer, all we ask for is a 60-day advance notice of your election to leave the program.




How is this different from rooftop (on site) solar?


Most on-site solar requires you to either buy or lease the solar panels or sign a 20-year power purchase agreement. Issues such as rooftop structure, the alignment of your home to the southern sun, shading, or just aesthetics are the reason why on-site solar is not feasible for some homes or businesses. SolarPark™ Energy locates the community solar parks on tracts of land that are optimally positioned to capture the most solar energy. So, whether you live in an apartment, a condo, a high-rise building or have a business or office where on-site solar is just not possible, or you just do not want solar panels on your roof or property, you can become a member of the SolarPark™ program and get all the benefits of solar energy. No new wires, no new meters, no solar panels on the property. Just sign up to become a member of the SolarPark™ program and you will convert to clean, environmentally-friendly solar power with a simple change in the billing program with your utility.




Are there any maintenance fees or hidden fees?


There is no cost to become a member of the program. There are NO UPFRONT FEES, NO LONG-TERM CONTRACTS. NO CANCELLATION FEES. If you elect to cancel your subscription, all we ask for is a 60-day notification in order to transfer your account with the utility.




Where will I see my discount?


Each month your utility bill will reflect a 10% discount on the supply and delivery charges. This discount will be reflected in a single-line item, listed as “Community Solar Credit.”
